Paul Davis played most all National, Southern, & District 4 (aka Southeastern) throughout the 70-90’s in the heyday of checker when 120+ showed up to compete. Like the 1978 National 3-Move Tournament held in Murfreesboro, TN with entrants of a 168 players which Tinsley won over Lowder by 1 honor point!  Davis won the 1979 GAYP National in Sanford, NC the 1988 National 3-Move in Danville, VA, and was usually a high finisher in all of the Nationals he played. He won many VA State Tys, and an ACF lifetime member as well as a life member of NCCA. Paul's wife Mary passed in 2010 which I previously included a number of links on her obituary which I have linked to Mary's name. Paul's grandson Tim Hensley wrote a nice checker article in the Smithsonian Magazine and several pictures of Paul over the years are linked on this page which you may click on for more about Paul.
